Why experience advanced hiking with us?

Forget about the days that look the same. We will enrich your vacation with challenges, kilometers in your legs, and breathtaking panoramas so you can get the maximum out of every day.
During your active vacation, you do not need to worry about maps or planning – that is our job. You just wake up in the morning, put on your hiking boots, and together we set off for another peak. Have a look at what a week you will remember for years looks like.

Your journey to find the answer to what to do in Slovakia starts the moment you land. Our guide will pick you up at the airport, and together you will move to the High Tatras.
After checking in and having your first dinner, we will meet for an important briefing. We will review together the details of next day’s climb to Rysy peak. Your advanced hiking vacation is just starting. Get a good rest, we start on the next day.

Is there a better way to start advanced hiking in the Tatras than a climb to the most popular viewpoint peak? After a rich breakfast, we will take a tram that will bring us to the mountains. A pleasant introduction awaits us on the way to Popradské pleso lake, where the easy part of the day ends and the real elevation gain is still ahead of us.
After a short break, we start to climb. The forest slowly gives way to dwarf pines, which are later replaced by bare rocks. Right here, in the middle of a stony wasteland, with your eyes on the steep path ahead, you start to fully take in the rugged beauty of the Tatras. The reward at the summit will be worth every single step. A 360-degree panorama of Slovakia and Poland awaits you, and it will surely take your breath away.
On the way to Rysy, the highest point of Poland, we will visit Chata pod Rysmi – the highest mountain hut in Slovakia (2,250 m above sea level). Until recently, it was also proud of another unique feature: a legendary painted “outhouse” with a glass wall offering a view into the valley.

After yesterday’s panoramic views, day-3 challenge will test your determination. Crossing Priečne sedlo is technically the most difficult marked circuit in the Tatras. This is exactly where advanced hiking comes into play. Prepare for chains and exposed terrain that requires full concentration and steady steps.
The reward for the steep climb, where you are sweating, securing yourself with chains while adrenaline runs through your veins, is the joy of the mountains, beautiful mountain scenery, and a visit to Zbojnícka and Téryho huts. Together with yesterday’s stop, they form the trio of the most difficult chalets to access in the High Tatras. Satisfied with this hard circular tour, we return to the hotel to recharge before the next day adventure.

We have completed the highest peak of Poland and the hardest technical crossing of Priečne sedlo, but our journey for the “best” of the Tatras continues. Today we will set off along the Tatra Magistrala around Skalnaté pleso and the most famous ski route, up to Veľká Svišťovka (2037 m). Beautiful views of the ridges of the High and Belianske Tatras will open up to you from the peak.
Next is the descent to the Valley of Zelené pleso. Many tourists consider the Hut at Zelené pleso (Green Lake) to be the most beautiful in the entire Tatras. When you see the emerald surface reflecting Jastrabia tower and the surrounding peaks, you will understand why. It is a place where you can fully enjoy the power and beauty of the mountains.

After days full of demanding climbs, it is time for a well-deserved rest. Today’s program is in your own hands, and if you ask what to do in Slovakia during a free day, there are many possibilities – from another hike to relax with a book in your hand. Use this time for regeneration because the following day we will head to the wild gorges of the Slovak Paradise.

Although the name Slovak Paradise suggests an easy walk, truth is the opposite. A 7-kilometer crossing of the Hornád Canyon is ahead of us. Here, we exchange solid ground for narrow metal steps and ladders fixed directly into vertical rock walls above the roaring river. This terrain offers a unique taste of advanced hiking.
During your active vacation, you will see the power of the Hornád River. We will pass by the Monk’s Cave and see many small caves that have been carved into the limestone by the wild river over thousands of years. The greenery everywhere and the humid air of the canyon create one of the most attractive sceneries that Slovak nature offers.

On day 7, our legs will rest from steep climbs, but while we reduce the elevation gain, we will add distance – today’s tour will be really long. We will set off along the red Tatra Magistrala trail towards Popradské pleso lake. The biggest reward will be the passage directly under the southern wall of Gerlachovský štít, the highest peak in Slovakia.
Even though we will not go to the summit, we will feel its presence with every step. Walking right under Gerlachovský štít (2655 m) is an experience that allows us to fully take in the panorama. It is our farewell to the High Tatras and the conclusion of your active vacation in Slovakia.

The time has come to pack your bags and say goodbye. Now you know exactly what to do in Slovakia when you want to experience something special. Your active vacation is ending, but the memories of rocky peaks and overcoming your limits will stay with you forever. We believe that this week exceeded your expectations, and we hope to see you again soon on another expedition.
