Bear watching on electric bikes in Slovakia

Within reach of the king of the Tatras from the saddle

Are you looking for an experience that makes your heart beat faster, but you want to save enough energy for the essential part? Combine bear watching, the king of the High Tatras in Slovakia, with the ease and joy of riding an electric bike.

Forget noisy jeeps or crowded ZOOs. Thanks to the electric bike, we will blend in with the environment and get deep into the valley – where civilization ends and the real kingdom of the brown bear begins.

Why get on an electric bike with us?

  • Energy for the essential: We will pick you up directly at your hotel and bring you to the start. Thanks to the electric bike, we will cross the valley with ease, so we arrive fresh for the bear watching itself.
  • Authentic experience: You will be guided by a native of the Tatras, who knows every corner of the High Tatras perfectly. He will take you to places from where you will have the best views for observing them.
  • Safe adventure: We move directly in the predator’s territory, but always under the supervision of an expert. Treat yourself to a fascinating look at the life of the brown bear without worries.
  • Complete equipment included: No worries – an electric bike and a helmet are automatically part of the trip, just come and set off.

Brown Bear: Untamed symbol of the mountains

The deep Tatra forests have their unquestionable king. The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is not only the largest predator in Slovakia, but also the real soul of the Tatra wilderness. While chamois guard the rocky peaks, the bear rules the valleys and dense thickets, in which, despite its size, it can move with surprising silence.

Do not be fooled by its stocky figure. It is a fascinating creature that combines immense strength with speed and a perfect sense of smell. Watching it in its natural environment, whether looking for food, playing with cubs or resting in the grass, is a rare privilege that you will not experience in a ZOO.

Fun Fact

Despite its robustness and huge fangs, up to 90% of the bear’s diet consists of plant food. It enjoys forest fruits, roots or grass the most. In summer, an adult brown bear can consume up to 30 kilos of food a day to create reserves for winter.

Journey to the Heart of the Wilderness

Our adventure starts in Podbanské, which is the imaginary gate to the real Tatra wilderness. At this place, we leave the rush of civilization behind and immerse ourselves in silence. A journey deep into one of the most beautiful Tatra valleys awaits us, where asphalt is gradually replaced by a forest road and the silence is drowned out only by the noise of a wild stream and the wind in the treetops.

The electric bike will save you valuable energy, which you can devote to scanning the surroundings and perceiving nature – but still in harmony with the quiet forest. Your mind will thus remain fresh and ready for a moment that will be etched in your memory forever.

Every trip is unique

The mountains are a living organism that changes every hour, so no two trips are the same. Sometimes the bears show up immediately, other times it requires a dose of patience. However, it is certain that just staying in these remote valleys, far from crowds, is a rare moment.

To better understand the uniqueness and fragility of the ecosystem in which we will move, we recommend reading our article: Discover nature in Slovakia and the High Tatras.
