Fly fishing in Slovakia is getting more and more popular especially with tourists from abroad.

Our  experienced English speaking fly fishing guide will tell you all about the area, flies and the location. We will ensure the fishing permits and a comfortable accommodation with a half board for you and your group if necessary.

See basic information about the rivers we can use for fishing:

BELÁ RIVER

Located right below the Tatra Mountains , north-west to Poprad, recommended to experienced fly fishers as the water is fast and crystal clear. What fish can you catch here? Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Greyling and other fish species.

POPRAD RIVER

One of the bigger rivers in Slovakia, it flows through the town of Poprad. What fish can you catch here? Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Greyling, Hucho Hucho.

DUNAJEC RIVER

This fishing zone is near the National Park Pieniny, the river flows pass the border between Slovakia and Poland. There is water dam located upstream, which means that we have to follow the plan of the company who regulates the height of the water level.  What fish can you find here? Brown Trout, Greyling, Hucho Hucho and other fish species.

VÁH RIVER

The biggest river of our selection located in the northern Slovakia, west to Poprad. It is not far from Poprad. This river is one of the best locations for fishing in Slovakia. What fish can you find here? Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Greyling, Hucho Hucho.

DEPARTURE/RETURN LOCATION Poprad or the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia
DEPARTURE TIME Usually at 8:00 AM from your hotel, but it can be sooner…
RETURN TIME Approximately 5 PM.
WEAR Leisure clothing, you can also change once we are there

8 AM – 8.30 AM: Transfer to one of the locations

Picking you up from your hotel, approx. 30min drive to the location.
  • Don´t forget a packed lunch, camera and all the equipment that you need for fishing 🙂

8.30 AM – 11.30 AM: Set up and prepare your equipment

The first fly fishing session.

11.30 AM – 13.30 AM: Time for lunch

Lunch either in form of a picnic or we can go to a nearby restaurant.

13.30 PM – 4.30 PM: Next location

The second session of fly fishing on the same river.

4.30 PM – 5 PM: Pack and leave

It´s time to pack the rods and go back to the hotel.
6

5 PM – 6 PM: Transfer back

Drive back to the hotel.
